One of the most alluring aspects of one of our large grid-wide MadPea hunts is discovering new and amazing places to explore! I love it. You love it. We all love it! These gems are the heart and soul of second life, where the impossible becomes possible and the mundane is transformed into something extraordinary. This years’ Spring Hunt introduced us to some wonderful places that I am so excited to share with you. In the past we have showcased sims such as the ever fabulous and oh-so popular Tagus Enchanted Forest owned by the Lady Amalthea, RoseGarden owned by LadyRose Writer and Noelia Island by Ida Carlberg. While these fantabulous sims still remain some of our most visited and beloved there are several newcomers I would like to share with you this season.
Adventures of Mysts owned by Lykin Dagger is an ode to the Post Apocalyptic dreamscape. What would happen if our world just stopped in it’s tracks? That is the question Lykin asked himself when he set out to design his sim. Broken buildings give way to overgrown plant life as the natural world begins to take over the remnants of the unnatural. Full of secrets to find and hidden delights to explore, it offers hours of entertainment and some exceptional photographic opportunities.
Canadiana by Jennas27 is another newcomer to our list and what a lovely gem. A rural playground full of dusty country roads, quaint cottages and windmills, ponds and waterfalls. It is easily reminiscent of J.R. Tolkien’s The Shire and any minute you might expect a hobbit to pop out it’s little head and invited you round for a ‘cuppa. You could easily spend hours exploring all there is to see and find and take advantage of the many backdrops and scenic landscapes on offer.
The Horizon by xxmichelle20xx is a beautiful example of the impossible brought to life. Ancient ruins, hovering alien aircrafts, wild horses, grassy knolls and dreamy walking paths all come together to create something ethereal and completely out of this world. This is a place of limitless possibilities that has been painstakingly and lovingly crafted to offer a new adventure around every corner.
Radiator Springs by Coriel Nordberg is a hidden treasure I would urge everyone to visit. Coriel seamlessly merges a well lived in urban landscape with the natural wildlife and beauty that surrounds it. Realistic details stand out in every instance that brings the small city alive while the lush forest full of overgrown vistas and waterfalls hum with a luxuriant life of their own. This is yet another place that begs to be explored and discovered and offers limitless possibilities of photographic opportunities.
Tuscany by Sandro Halasy is your passport to an authentic italian experience. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to stroll down the cobbled streets of an italian country village then wonder no more, Tuscany will whisk you away and fuel your dreams far beyond what you ever imagined. Terraced cafes, winding roads, city buildings all brought to life with authentic ambition. Not only can you explore the area freely and take advantage of the many wonderful photo opportunities but here you also have the option of renting one of their homes and calling a piece of this paradise home.
Whatever your passion is, whatever it is that draws you to Second Life, these amazing builds will fuel those dreams and take you on a journey that you’ve not yet experienced. Take a day or two and a few friends and make your own memories exploring narrow alleyways, country roads, hidden ponds and romantic cafes!
